Sector overview

What we trade in phosphate fertilizers.

Diammonium phosphate (DAP), monoammonium phosphate (MAP), and triple superphosphate (TSP) are the principal phosphate fertilizers used in row crop agriculture worldwide. Phosphate is the second of the three macronutrients (with nitrogen and potassium) and is non-substitutable.

North American phosphate production is concentrated in Florida (Mosaic) and Saskatchewan, with additional production in Idaho and Wyoming. Export capacity ships through US Gulf terminals to global fertilizer markets.

GMC Trading Group reviews qualified North American phosphate fertilizer opportunities. Origin, product equivalence, supplier authority, logistics, and landed economics must be proven for each requirement.

Origins we source from

  • Florida — Mosaic Bartow, Riverview
  • Saskatchewan — integrated potash/phosphate
  • US Gulf export terminals

Why this trade right now

Phosphate trade has been disrupted by Chinese export controls, Russian sanctions, and Moroccan supply concentration risk. North American producers offer asset-backed, politically stable supply at competitive landed cost into Asian and Latin American markets.

Typical destination markets

  • Brazil and Latin America
  • India and South Asia
  • Southeast Asia
